Truth be known (like you guys haven't realized already), I am just really horrible at blogging. Perhaps it is the lack of interesting things happening in our lives or that I work full-time (that's our friend Miriam's reason for me -- she, by the way, is a most-excellent blogger, but maybe I'm a little biased :D), but I cannot for the life of me commit to updating on a regular basis about fun things.
(Okay, so I lied when I said our lives are uninteresting - I'm just too lazy to write about it.)
And I have to mention here that I dislike with a passion blogger/blogspot's way to post photos. This may not be a problem for people who want to have a happy, concise, and coherent blog...but I am not one of those people. I try really really hard to limit the amount of photos I upload but it's practically impossible for me to keep it under ten photographs, unless it's of food. But even then I sometimes want to post pictures of the same dish from different angles. Lame lame lame.
Here is my hearty attempt at posting interesting snippets (the key word!) of our married life together:
Last Friday we went to a Gamecocks v. Florida Baseball game. I don't know if it was the manic scared feeling I got surrounded by so many fans from the opposing team that kept the game exciting or the fact that college baseball is just more interesting than pro, but we had a really really fun time. Even when David went to get some concessions (bottle of water $3.25, say whattttt???) I kept my eye on the field without any underlying urges to text!
The next day, Saturday, we slept in and slowly got ready for our dear friend Amy's wedding in Rock Hill. She was our sole musician for our wedding and really did a wonderful job.. and her wedding ceremony was just great! I'm sure the people around us thought I was either very emotional or depressed because I was sniffling my way through the ceremony... And while I am very emotional, I really was not constantly crying -- it was my allergies, I swear! (And bless David's heart, he went to get me a "tissue" but showed up with a very, uh, rough, paper towel from the men's bathroom.. ouchiewahwah!) We were only able to stay for a little bit of the reception because my next destination was Florida!
My father-in-law made these cupcake stands for our wedding and Amy borrowed them, adding a decorative touch. They looked great! I'm so proud!
Amy is so beautiful!
The only way I could make my nose stop running!
Sunday evening was my other friend Tara's wedding. She was one of my closest friends throughout nursing school, and her wedding was especially fun because (a) it was on the beach, and (b) all of my other close friends from nursing school got to reunite! Most of us hadn't really seen one another since graduation last December (aside from our wedding, but you never can spend as much time with your guests as you would like to), so it was really special catching up.
Ashley & I stayed at the hotel for a few days and enjoyed many many hours in the sun. I read my first book since the Nevada/Utah/Arizona trip (so sad, but life has been just so ridiculously busy!) and it inspired me to be more active in library world, because really, my lack of keeping up with a regular FUN reading schedule since high school is quite pathetic. I have so many books on my shelf that I have started and never found the time to finish. Well that starts now!
We loved the umbrella! .. Especially after we figured out how to successfully put it up. (Thanks Darrick!)
Yes, oh yes.. It was better in person. (The next day he was sportin' a hot pink suit!)
I got back late last night, brushed my teeth, and begged David to lather me up with lotion. My back/neck/arms/legs/every body part that was exposed to the sun is itching like crazy and my skin is sort of slimy (great visual, I know) from the massive amounts of lotion I have been putting on all day.
Working the next three days and then David goes to Maryland to work for three weeks! Much too long... which is why I'm planning a visit up there the first weekend of June!
Life keeps on rolling and I'm going to try to get better at blogging.
Edited to add: blogger did it again! I thought I discovered a way to make uploading photos easier, and instead it uploaded them all in reverse chronological order! So, I attempted to make some sort of sense with them, but then I grew impatient... Not many people read this enough so I don't really care... Sorrryyyyy. (:
